Wolverton Primary School

School Meals

Hot nutritious school meals, supplied by our catering partner, Baileys Catering, are available each day to all of our children. Bailey’s are a Gold ‘Food for Life’ Catering Mark holder and use high quality, seasonal, often organic, local produce for our school meals.

Ordering Meals

Meals can be ordered up to a term in advance from the Baileys Website. We would urge you to discuss your meal choices with your child, to prevent “I don’t like this!” situations.

Reception / Key Stage 1 Meals

All children in England’s state funded schools in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school lunch. This lunch should be ordered via the Baileys website – it will recognise your child is in Reception or KS1 and will not charge you for the meals. If however you are in receipt of any of the benefits outlined below in ‘Free School Meals In KS2’ please do let us know – by simply filling in a form the school can access further important pupil-premium funding.

KS 2 Meals

Children’s meals are charged at £2.30 per day for pupils in KS2. They can be ordered from the Baileys Website.

Free School Meals In KS2

A child is entitled to Free School meals in KS2 if parents/carers are in receipt of any of the following benefits:

  • Income support
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit Child Tax Credit (provided they are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190, as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • During the initial roll out of the benefit, Universal Credit

If you are in receipt of any of the above benefits please collect a form from the school office – this will not only allow your child access to a free school meal but also open up extra funding for the school via pupil premium funding
