Mental Health and Well-being in our school

At our school, we recognise that pupils’ wellbeing and mental health are fundamental to their learning, development and overall success. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment in which all pupils feel valued, secure and able to thrive.

Our Approach

We take a proactive and whole-school approach to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing. This is embedded across school life and supported through our curriculum, relationships and policies.

Our approach aims to:

  • Promote emotional resilience and self-regulation

  • Support pupils to understand and manage their emotions

  • Encourage positive relationships and a sense of belonging

  • Identify and address mental health needs at the earliest opportunity

Wellbeing and mental health are supported through:

    • The PSHE and Relationships Education curriculum

    • Opportunities for pupils to develop social and emotional skills

    • Teaching strategies that promote confidence, independence and self-esteem

    • Clear routines and expectations that provide structure and security

      Working with Families

We value strong partnerships with parents and carers. Open communication helps us to support children consistently both at home and at school. Parents are always welcome to contact us if they have concerns about their child’s wellbeing. Our Mental Health lead is Mrs Fleming.
